NORWAY – Seventeen photographs have been put up for public display in the reference room at the Norway Memorial Library. They have all been taken during summers spent in Maine by photographer John Manfred, a retired Connecticut teacher.

This exhibit, portraits of “Old-Timers,” is a selection of silver gelatin prints photographed over the last 30 years. The show includes a photo of Ken Taplin, a former selectman of Blue Hill, who inspired the collection with his recent statement, “I always wanted to be an old-timer – until I finally became one.”

Accompanying each of the photos is a numbered vignette, which describes either the character or the inspiration. The exhibit is on view during regular hours at the Norway Memorial Library through January.
