PORTLAND – Southern Maine’s first new drum and bugle corps in 25 years is scheduling recruiting meetings for interested young people, parents and the public.
Atlantic Guardian Drum and Bugle Corps will host meetings on Monday, Dec. 15, at Marshwood High School in Berwick; Tuesday, Dec. 16, at St. Luke’s Catherdral, Lower Parish Hall in Portland; and Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Edward Little High School in Auburn.
All meetings will take place at 6:30 p.m. Contact the corps by e-mail at [email protected], calling 775-1661 or logging onto www.AtlanticGuardian.org.
Atlantic Guardian is sponsored by Community Musical Arts, a 502(c)3 tax-exempt corporation. It is dedicated to providing brass, percussion and color guard students with an outlet to develop the skills taught in the regular music program, then sharing those skills with the community-at-large through parades, competitions, workshops and performances.
Through donations the group is securing equipment and staff. Members intend to form a parade unit for the summer of 2004 and invite all interested parties to join.
