RUMFORD – The Stephens High School class of 1945 held its 58th reunion the weekend of Sept. 12 at the Madison Inn with 53 in attendance.
Registration took place Sept. 12. On Saturday, the Rev. Moots Carignan said Mass. A memorial service was conducted by Harvey Manson. Participating the in the service were Jean Libby, Jim Kelly, Ed Roach and Sylvio Normandeau.
Class President Ernie Phillips opened the meeting and plans were made for the next reunion in 2005. Committee members were introduced by Chairwoman Connie Palleschi. The committee consisted of Muriel Arsenault, co-chairwoman; Jean Libby, secretary; Theresa Vaillancourt, treasurer; Marguerite Gaudet, who was in charge of calling: Keith Ruff, Nora Cormier, Jim Kelly, Gloria Gallant, Norman Thurston, Ed Roach, Dom Palleschi, Jeanne Lefebvre, Lorraine Holman, Harvey Mason and Sylvio Normandeau.
Blacky Arsenault entertained with humor, Fred St. Cyr took classmate photos. Sylvio Normandeau won the 50-50 raffle and returned the winnings to increase the class fund. Muriel Arsenault was presented a gift from the class for her years of dedication. Keith Ruff played the keyboard for a sing-along and for a game of “Name That Tune.”
The reunion ended with a farewell breakfast on Sunday.
