FARMINGTON – Dads and Kids will play “Follow the Clues” from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Old South Congregational Church. It is free and open to fathers and children of all ages.
The event is sponsored by the Franklin County Children’s Task Force and Franklin Head Start and Child Care. It is also supported by donations from Farmington Rotary Club and Farmington Elks Lodge.
The Dads and Kids program was created to provide a space for fathers and their children to spend time together. Once a month on Saturday they meet for snacks, conversation and activities as “Follow the Clues,” an interactive scavenger hunt.
Facilitators for the group are Jeb Enoch, a father of three girls, and Anthony Martins. Enoch notes that “no matter how long we’ve been a dad, how old our children are, whether we have boys, girls or both, we all have something to contribute to this group. The collective experience of fathers should be shared. We as dads need one another for support. guidance and friendship. Mothers seem to be more comfortable with getting together and helping one another in this way, but there really is no reason fathers can’t do the same for one another.” For more information, call the Children’s Task Force at 778-6960.
