AUBURN – Beacon Hospice and Palliative Care invites the health care community to attend a one-day program, “Partners In Caring: A Collaborative Approach to End-of-Life Care,” from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 14 Great Falls Plaza, Auburn.

The agenda will feature an introduction of Beacon Hospice to the community by CEO Betty Brennan, and Dr. Kristin Jhamb, medical director.

Programs will include “Coping with Grief and Loss – Before and After Death” presented by Jane DuBois, MS, M.Div., and Ginni Holden-Norberg, LICSW, and two presentations by Cathy Schutt, RN, CS, ANP, “Introduction to Pain Management in End of Life Care” and “Introduction to Symptom Management in End of Life Care.”

Additional presenters will include Barbara Daigle, bereavement coordinator for Lewiston, with a short program, “A Hospice Story,” and the Rev. Jacob Watson, Beacon’s Portland office, speaking on “Spiritual Care in Hospice.”

The program is offered free to health care providers and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. A certificate for six hours of continuing education will be awarded to all participants.

Reservations by Nov. 4 are required as space is limited.
