LEWISTON – The Androscoggin County Republican Women’s Club will meet at 11 a.m. Monday. Oct. 13, at the Ramada Inn. There will be a guest speaker who will address the referendum ballot issues. All Republican women are welcome.
Sodality speaker
LEWISTON – The Ladies of St. Ann Sodality of Holy Family Parish will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the parish center. Plans for the holiday fair will be discussed.
Cathy White, Lifeline coordinator for Sisters of Charity Health System, will be the speaker.
Refreshments will be served by Flo Marquis, assisted by Jackie Veilleux.
Book program
LEWISTON – Keep America Reading is sponsored by the Pepperell Book Warehouse. Any adult who feels that children should read qualifies for the program.
Those wishing can go to the warehouse and place books on the shelves as long as they want and they will receive free books for children who need need them. Call 344-6900 for more information.

Bird fanciers
NORTH MONMOUTH – The Northern New England Bird Fanciers will meet at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, to finalize reports of the Oxford County Fair. Election of officers will also be held. A light luncheon will be provided at noon for anyone wishing to attend.
Bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Oct. 7 at the Multi-Purpose Center.
North/South winners in Flight A were: Fred Letourneau and Martine Begert; second, David Lock and Patricia Garcia; third, Luke Merry and Marguerite Zahoruiko; Flight B winners, Richard Balian and Donald Johnson.
East/West winners in Flight A were: first, Eleanor Abraham and Mary Leahey; second, Dick Horne and Nancy Lindgren; third, Ron and Connie Reynolds; Flight B, first, Mimi Bell and Rowena Palmer; second, Doug and Betty Sise.
Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the center. A partner is guaranteed.
