BRIDGTON – The third annual Harvest Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at Narramissic, the historic Peabody Fitch Farm in South Bridgton.

There will be hayrides, pumpkin carving, sheep being herded by border collies, blacksmith shop, cooking, spinning and weaving in the house which is open for tours. Children’s games will also be organized. Tours to Bear Trap will be available, as well as hot dogs, drinks, snacks and ice cream.

Admission is $5 per person with a max of $12 per family. Members and seniors are $4. This covers all events except snacks, pumpkins and the turkey supper which follows.

A public supper in the barn will begin at 5 featuring home-baked turkeys, stuffing, gravy, corn, peas, squash, potatoes, home-made bread, coffee, punch and home-made pies. Two sittings of 100 each are planned at 5 and 6 p.m. Cost of the supper is $7 for adults, $4 for children under 10, and free under age 2.

Blood drive

Harvest supper

WEST PARIS – West Paris Grange 298 will serve a harvest supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the hall, 4 Church St. The New England boiled dinner will also feature dessert. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

WEST PARIS – The women’s group of the West Paris Baptist Church will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the church dining room. The group met recently with Mary Standard in Sumner when programs for the year were planned.

Garden events

PARIS – The fourth annual Great Divide will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 18, at the McLaughlin Foundation, 97 Main St., South Paris. There will be music, fresh produce, Maine crafts and goats. Bring labeled perennial divisions and swap them with others for free. There will be an autumn gardening workshop at 9 and 10 a.m. Scarecrow-making workshop for children is set for 11. Bring old clothes and hats to decorate the scarecrow. Grange fair

WEST PARIS – West Paris Grange will hold its annual craft fair from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Grange hall. There will be crafts, books, toys, clothes, plants, games. Lunch will be available at noon with corn chowder, muffins, sandwiches, hot dogs, desserts. To rent tables for $5 each, call 674-3872.

GOP parade

FRYEBURG – Oxford County Republicans participated in the Fryeburg Fair parade recently. Sen. Susan Collins led the group and was followed by David Hastings III, former Rep. Paul Waterhouse and Caldy Jackson, all candidates for the District 13 senate seat. Also in the parade were Paul Billins, Barbara Robinson, Rep. Arlan Jodrey, Eleanor Jodrey and Becky Kendall.
