The students in the ESL Maine Studies course at Edward Little High School recently made pancakes because the Maine Studies class is learning about how and where maple syrup is made. Also, they are learning about the symbols of Maine, and they found out that the wild fruit of Maine is the blueberry.

They decided they wanted to try the blueberries, grown in Maine, so they put the blueberries on the pancakes. The students learned that maple trees and blueberries grow in Maine.

The students thought the pancakes were great because some of them had never tried pancakes with blueberries on them. This was a great activity because the students who come from different countries and different states can learn more about Maine.

Students who participated in this activity were Yasmin Mohamed, Delcy Romero, Ricardo Ruiz, Mohamed hersi and Mahadho Gure.
