FARMINGTON FALLS – The Farmington Falls Union Baptist Church will observe Rally Sunday starting at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, with Sunday School classes following morning worship.

The adult class will study Article 3 of the church’s constitution, The Statement of Faith. All are welcome to participate.

New members will receive the right hand of fellowship during the communion service at the 9 a.m. service, Sunday, Oct. 5.

During the Sept. 15 service, Kristin Williamson sang, “Eagles Wings,” as the morning anthem. Maurice Hovey played, “He Touched Me,” as the offertory. The guest pianist was Anita Fitch for the 9 a.m. service.

Art course

WILTON – A course, Illustrating Children’s Books, will be offered this fall by SAD 9 Adult Education. The course, taught by Barbara Hathaway, will explore creating illustrations using watercolor.

There will be eight classes held on Thursdays from Sept. 25 to Nov. 13 at the Hathaway Studio in Wilton. Classes will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Gospel festival

NEW PORTLAND – The North New Portland Community Church will host its first Annual Country Gospel Music Festival starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at the North New Portland Church.

The festival will feature gospel singers and musicians from across the region. The public is invited.

A reception for the singers and musicians will be held in the Joyce Pease Meetinghouse following the service. The celebration is part of a continuing series of special services which began with the July Anglers Sunday Service.

In December, the church is planning an Advent-Christmas candlelight service of lessons and carols.

The North New Portland Church is on Church Street behind Morton’s General Store.

Seniors to meet

WILTON – The Wilton Senior Citizens met Sept. 10 at Kineowatha Park and suspended meetings until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at SeniorsPlus. Guests and new members are welcome.
