CHESTERVILLE – A Heritage Parade and Field Day will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, kicking off with the parade at 11 a.m. Parade participants are being sought. The parade theme is “Good Old Summer Time.”

Field day events will follow, including a chicken barbecue, square dance demonstration, children’s games and the Zingo Zango Band.

Open house

JAY – The Jay Historical Society annual open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Holmes-Crafts Homestead on Jay Hill.

The Jay Fire Department will have an antique fire equipment display of its own and four other town fire departments. Barry Wood will furnish music on the lawn from 10 a.m. to noon.

There will be an attic treasures table; hot dogs, cold drinks, Indian pudding and ice cream will be on sale in the garage; and the house will be open for tours.

Anyone who would like to set up a personal table to sell crafts is welcome to for $5 a table.
