SOUTH PARIS – The Oxford County Association of Educators-Retired will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the Bolsters Mills Methodist Church vestry.

Following a brief business meeting, a chicken pie dinner and a cookie walk fund-raiser for the scholarship will be held. Dinner reservations can be made by calling Helene Decker at 539-2552 or Marguerite Johnson at 743-6503 by Sunday, Sept. 12, or by responding to the phone chain call system.

The cookie walk will feature a large variety of homemade or store-bought cookies which can be purchased by the bagful, with money going to help three high school seniors next spring.

The Oxford County Association of Educators-Retired consists of retired teachers, school secretaries, aides, assistants, librarians, cafeteria workers, school bus drivers, nurses, retired administrators and others who retired from schools in the Oxford Hills area.

The afternoon program will be presented by Lorraine Parsons on “Dolls, Past and Present.”

The association meets at various area churches or Legion halls on the third Friday monthly from April to November and dues are $5 a year, with dinners ranging from $6 to $7.
