LEWISTON – Advocates for Children, the child abuse prevention agency in Androscoggin County, is offering a 45-hour course for educators and other professionals, “Responding to Child Abuse,” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 13 through Dec. 6, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Dealing daily with children or teenagers who are victims of abuse can be overwhelming and confusing. The course will offer an opportunity to learn more about current child abuse and neglect issues from professionals presenting on topics in their fields of expertise: the legal system; protecting children online; and medical perspectives of child abuse and neglect.
