WATERFORD – The Wilkins Community House near the Waterford Congregational Church on Plummer Hill in Waterford Village, will offer its 50th year of summer breakfasts starting on Friday, July 4. The nonprofit organization oversees the upkeep of the Wilkins House which is available for private and community events.
Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10 a.m. on July 4, July 16, July 30 and Aug. 13. The expanded menu will offer scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage links, homemade muffins, doughnuts, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $4.50 and $2.50 for children 5 to 10. Children under 5 are free.
Also offered is the Women’s Fellowship craft table with a raffle for a large basket of Maine products and a raffle for a hand-blown glass vase by artist Ben Coombs of Portland Glass Blowing Studio. The Keoka Lake Association will again raffle off a kayak. The Waterford Historical Society will be selling its new publication, “This is Waterford,” a collection of photos and poetry, essays and articles by people who helped to shape the character of the village.
There will be yard sales in the area as well as the Fourth of July parade at 11 a.m. The PTO will sponsor a Castle Moonwalk, and the Congregational Church’s Mission Program will sell hot dogs, hamburgers and soda.
