On Tues. Nov. 22 at St. Peter and Sacred Heart School we had a Thanksgiving Dinner. This event has been going on for about five years. The meal that was provided for all the students included eighty pounds of turkey; fifty pounds of potatoes, twenty-five pounds of carrots, eighteen pounds of corn, six pounds of stuffing, eighteen dozen rolls of bread, and thirteen cans of cranberries.

This meal was prepared by twenty-five parent volunteers on both Monday the 21st and Tuesday the 22nd. Also at the event we had some special guests; our principal Mrs. Donna Sawyer dressed as a Native American and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gilbert were dressed like Pilgrims. Mrs. Sawyer said “the event was very organized and it went smoothly.” She also said “the event has become a tradition at our school and I hype that every year the event will become more of a big celebration.”

All of us at St. Peter and Sacred Heart School want to give a big thank you to all the volunteers who donated their time to make this celebration wonderful. We would also like to thank the people who donated the food for the event.
