Boys Hockey:
Last Year’s Record: 19-3
Lost, Western Class A Finals
Overcoming many obstacles in the past few seasons, including graduating dozens at a time, and the retirement of a long-tenured coach, the team again has its work cut out. Last year, the boys shocked many with another trip to the postseason. Coming up short again, this title-hungry team is searching for its first crown since 2000. Again losing almost two dozen players doesn’t look good, but this is the team that is a perennial contender and refuses to back down.
Girls Hockey:
Last Year’s Record: 22-1-2
2005 Tier 1 State Champions
Always playing in the shadows, the girls are back again after their first state title. Just a few years old, this sport is steadily growing, and could become state recognized soon. Losing just a handful of players, the team should again be a favorite to compete for a consecutive state title.
Boys Basketball:
Last Year’s Record: 7-10
Lost, Western Class C Preliminary Round
Just two years out of their history-making season, this perennially hardworking team lost seven seniors. Last year, the team rebuilt and competed with a fairly young squad. Graduating four, as well as losing the head coach, the team is looking to return to the spotlight in the playoffs.
Girls Basketball:
Last Year’s Record: 10-7
Lost, Western Class C Preliminary Round
As a team that was expected to slowly rebuild after losing many players, last year’s team shocked many by making the most of their first winning season in some time. Only graduating one, the girls could take this team where they have never been before.
Competition Cheering:
2005 Class C State Champions
Expect another strong and dedicated performance from the reigning champions. This team has dominated their division for the past decade, and shows no sign of backing down. Graduating only a few girls, look to see the squad in Augusta.
