WILTON – Franklin Grange 50 did not have a regular business meeting in July, but 11 members and one guest met at the home of Master Mike Flagg on July 10. Everyone lined up and formed a convoy to travel to Augusta for a meal at the 99 Restaurant.
The Aug. 14 meeting was difficult for members as they draped the Charter in memory of Louise Flagg. Flagg had been a member for more than 56 years.
Master Mike Flagg, her grandson, then presented his father, Lincoln Flagg, her only child, with his 50-year Golden Sheaf from National Grange and a certificate of legislative sentiments from the state, sponsored by Rep. Tom Saviello and co-sponsored by Sen. Chandler Woodcock.
A schedule of meetings was planned for 2004-2005 and programs will be available at the Oct. 4 meeting, which will also be installation of officers by Deputy Robert Smith and his team.
There will not be a meeting in September as the group is busy preparing two fair booths, one for Farmington and one for Fryeburg Fair.
Mike Flagg will also be the new master of Excelsior Pomona 5.
