WILTON – Franklin Grange 50 will meet on Saturday, June 14, for a memorial program and election of officers.
At a recent meeting, Lincoln and Hazel Flagg filling the chairs as assistants and Tippy Tracy as secretary.
Members thanked Mike and Karen Flagg for hosting the meetings at their home during the cold months.
Tom Saviello was a guest speaker about the legislature. Lecturer Helen Bubier gave the opening thought.
Mike Flagg and Helen Bubier told jokes and readings were provided by Olive Toothaker, Hazel Flagg and Thelma Frost.
At a different meeting held in May there were guest officers. Steward was Robert James, assistant steward was Harold Parsons, lady assistant steward was Millie Parsons with Charlotte Sutter, Mavis Lane and Betty James filling the Committee on Women’s Activities chairs. The meetings were preceded by a variety of foods brought in by everyone.
Harold and Millie Parsons are assistant steward and lady assistant steward of the Maine State Grange and Mavis Lane is junior deputy.
Plans were discussed on getting a replacement curtain for the stage. Karen Flagg will check with State Master Steve Verrill to see if there are any available from any Granges that have closed in previous years.
Lecturer’s program had joke readings by Tippy Tracy and Mike Flagg. Skits were done by Earl Tracy and Lincoln Flagg, Olive Toothaker and Hazel Flagg and Helen Bubier with Mike Flagg. Thelma Frost played a medley of songs on her keyboard.
Census take was Excelsior Grange two, Woowich 68 two, Wilson two, North Jay two, guests two and Franklin Grange 11.
