STRONG – Strong Nursing Home presented plaques to family members recognizing their donations to residents recently.

A few months ago employee Sue White’s father, Rodney Harnden, passed away. It was his wish to have people donate money to the Resident Trip Fund at the facility in lieu of flowers.

He had made friends with several of the residents and had heard about the special trips arranged by the facility for residents. White has often participated in providing the staffing to make those special trips happen.

Rochie and Joyce Smith, parents of a resident, also made a generous donation last fall. They had seen the enjoyment on residents’ faces when they had golf cart rides while vacationing at Pine Tree Camp. The Smiths purchased a golf cart for the residents. In addition to the wall plaque, a metal plate will be attached to the golf cart itself recognizing the donation.

Both family groups requested to have the plaques displayed in the facility.
