AUBURN — Urban Keith Waning, formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, May 13, after a lengthy battle with dementia.
He spent nearly his entire working life happily employed by Bath Iron Works and took great pride in doing his job well for over 40 years.
Upon retirement, Urban enjoyed being outdoors, and especially loved fishing and watching Red Sox baseball. He was also able to resume both painting and playing the drums, two things he had loved from his youth. Many remember his easy smile and warm laugh that could fill a room.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Jeanne Waning.
He is survived by his sons Chad Waning of Lewiston and Ryan Waning of Carmel; his daughter-in-law, Kate; and his two granddaughters, Addison and Hannah, whom he loved so much.
Always an animal lover, in lieu of cards or flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter in Urban’s name.
