FARMINGTON – Franklin County Sheriff Dennis Pike was honored as the year’s Outstanding Alumni at the Farmington Area Alumni Association banquet on Aug. 12.

Association President John Frary noted that November will mark the completion of four decades of police work by Pike, who was playing an active civic role while still in high school as a civil defense volunteer.

Pike began his police career in the Farmington Police Department and went on to be elected as Franklin County sheriff in November 2000. He has been a Farmington selectman since 1996 and a National Weather Service Co-Operative observer since 1966.

Pike has spend his life in the town of Farmington, apart from his military service.
