BUCKFIELD – Canton Baptist Church will join Buckfield Community Church to celebrate the World Day of Prayer at 1 p.m. March 6 at the Buckfield church.
A program will be presented by the Canton Church headlining the purpose of a Christian women’s organization organized in Canada on Jan. 9, 1920.
Canada and the United States have initiated cooperative activities to promote world peace through mission work. The first national Day of Prayer was held Feb. 20, 1920.
The World Day of Prayer is a day where many cultures, races and faiths pray and give sacrificial offerings to women’s and children’s groups in each of the 170 churches represented.
Refreshments will be served after the service by the Buckfield church.
