PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce has announced several awards for people and businesses.
Norway Savings Bank was named Large Business of the Year, while Cafe Nomad in Norway was named Small Business of the Year. The New Element Day Spa, which opened in 2008 in Paris, was declared the new business venture of the year.
Mark Eastman of Paris, superintendent of SAD 17, was named Citizen of the Year, while Ena Derenburger, sales manager for Turn Key Homes of Oxford, was named Employee of the Year. Heath Poland, the new owner of Flanders Electric in Norway, was named Rising Star of the Year.
Steve Wallace, executive director of the chamber, said the Above and Beyond Award from the board of directors will go to NEPW Logistics of Paris. Wallace said the decision was based on the business’s ability to maintain its roll of employees after a devastating fire in December.
“That was something that the board felt strongly about,” Wallace said.
The awards will be presented at the chamber’s annual dinner Saturday, Jan. 31, at Hebron Academy in Hebron.
