Dixfield
Thefts
Five boys from the Lisbon area, ages 16 and 17, are paying restitution and doing community service in Dixfield as a result of a spree on July 15 when they took several lawn ornaments from the Main Street and Canton Point Road areas. Acting Chief Jeff Howe said two lawn globes, two plastic deer and two cement lions were taken during the early evening hours of July 15.
The punishment was worked out between the boys’ families and the Dixfield Police Department. Officer Eric Bernier investigated.
A 1993 Oldsmobile sedan with an aluminum boat fastened onto the roof was taken on July 10 from a home on Science Hill Road. Howe said keys had been left in the vehicle. Police have no leads.
Vandalism
A wooden bench in the village gazebo park along Main Street, valued at about $200, was destroyed prior to 2:30 p.m. on July 23. Police are investigating.
