PARIS – The annual town meeting will remain on a Saturday despite some proposals to bump it up to a weekday evening.
Selectmen voted unanimously on Monday to keep the meeting on its scheduled date of June 14.
Chairman Ernest Fitts III said there had been concerns that some people would have to work during the Saturday morning meeting, and that it might also conflict with religious events.
Town Manager Sharon Jackson said that scheduling a meeting requires several advance preparations, such as booking a hall and getting a moderator.
“I think it should be looked at,” Jackson said. “I just wouldn’t look at this year.”
