NORWAY – Two drivers were injured and their vehicles destroyed Wednesday evening in an accident on Route 117.
According to Norway police Officer Holli Pullen, Megan Crowley, 23, of Bridgton, was driving too far to the side of the road when the accident occurred.
Crowley’s northbound 1999 Volkswagen Beetle collided with the driver-side fender of a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am operated by Diane Kimball, 39, of Paris. Kimball’s vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Gore Road and Route 117.
“Both vehicles had substantial damage,” Pullen said. “I would say that they were both totaled.”
PACE Ambulance transported Kimball to Stephens Memorial Hospital, where she required stitches on an eyebrow. Crowley complained of minor head pain and was taken by a friend to the hospital.
Neither Kimball nor Crowley was at the hospital by Thursday morning.
The Norway police and fire departments responded to the scene, as well as Maine State Police and Oxford County Sheriff’s Office. The road was not closed after the accident.
Pullen said Crowley has not been charged.
