OXFORD – The Oxford Elementary School Parent Teacher Association is holding its annual holiday fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the school at 79 Pleasant St.
PTA President Michelle Kimball said the fair is the PTA’s major fundraiser and pays for field trips, enrichment programs, playground equipment and school events and programs.
This year the fair will feature a kid’s room where children can shop for low-cost presents, a game room for children, food, including hot dogs and pizza and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
There also will be raffles, including $100 of heating oil donated by Dead River Company, a $100 Wal-Mart gift card, food baskets, men and women’s surprise bags of goodies, and a basket from the Candle Place in Oxford.
Another feature will be the Oxford Elementary School Christmas tree where participants can pick an ornament and donate whatever amount of money is indicated on the ornament. Proceeds go toward buying holiday gifts for needy students at the elementary school.
Last year, 11 students were helped through the fund-raising efforts.
