RUMFORD – Two men were arrested over the holiday weekend in connection with a fire in March that destroyed a pickup truck owned by one of them.
Edward T. Vidito, 45, of 516 Virgin St. in Rumford was arrested at his home Friday on a charge of arson and booked at the Oxford County Jail with bail of $10,000 cash, said Chris Stanford, an investigator for the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Henry F. Ross, 29, also of 479 Virgin St. in Rumford, was arrested Monday at a family camp in Roxbury on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit arson and insurance deception. He was booked at the jail with bail of $2,000 cash or $5,000 surety, he said.
Stanford said Ross’ burned 1997 Chevrolet pickup was found by a group all-terrain-vehicle riders on a trail deep in the woods in Greenwood on March 31.
