MEXICO – The Oxford County Democratic Committee will convene a special meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 21, to respond to Gov. John Baldacci’s declaration of a vacancy in House Legislative District 93, which includes Mexico, Dixfield, Peru, Canton and Carthage.

The Secretary of State has called the special legislative election for Nov. 6.

The District 93 meeting will be held at Mountain Valley Middle School at 6:30 p.m. Democrats from the District 93 towns will select a candidate in a caucus-style proceeding.
