PARIS – A ceremony was held last week to announce promotions of Brian T. Landis and Justin M. Brown to the rank of corporal with the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department.

Cpls. Brown and Landis recently completed the interview and testing process for the position.

“They have shown excellent leadership abilities and a commitment to the mission statement and goals set by this agency,” Sheriff Wayne Gallant said. “We are confident in their abilities to assume the new role and responsibilities associated with being a corporal with the sheriff’s office.”

Brown became a full-time deputy in 2000 and Landis in 2003. Prior to joining the sheriff’s department, Landis was an officer for Paris.

The department’s newest deputy, George T. Cayer, was also introduced at the ceremony.

“Deputy Cayer has over 20 years full-time law enforcement career and we are extremely pleased to have such an experienced deputy join our ranks,” Gallant said.
