PARIS – A 15-year-old student was taken into custody Monday afternoon, charged with assaulting a police officer and disorderly conduct after an incident at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
Paris police Chief David Verrier said School Resource Officer Zane Loper, who works for the Paris Police Department, had called the student to his office to question him about alleged physical harassment against another student.
When Loper confronted him about these incidents, the student responded by pinning him against the wall. Verrier said he did not have a weapon. Loper suffered a cut on his hand, Verrier said.
High school Principal Ted Moccia said he could not discuss disciplinary action against the student, however he assured that the school would take appropriate action.
