NORWAY – One man was killed early Sunday morning after being ejected when the pickup truck he was driving crashed on Main Street, a state police dispatcher said.

Richard Randall Jr., 38, of Shaker Road in Gray, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a preliminary report by Trooper Angela Porter.

Randall’s wife, Chantelle, 34, reportedly suffered minor injuries and was taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, the dispatcher said.

Porter’s report stated that the Randalls were allegedly having a domestic dispute while parked in the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado at Charlie’s Entertainment Center, then left angrily.

Shortly after midnight, and a half-mile from the Norway lounge, the truck struck a guardrail at the intersection of Main and Fair streets, Norway police Chief Rob Federico said Sunday afternoon.

Contacted Sunday evening, Porter would not comment on whether there had been a domestic dispute.

She did say that speed was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Due to the fact that someone was killed, Norway police have turned the investigation over to state police.

The road near the crash scene was shut down and traffic detoured around the wreck while the accident was reconstructed by State Police Sgt. Mike McAlister and Paris Police Sgt. Mike Dailey.
