BETHEL – A short agenda of change orders and routine public hearings for liquor licensing renewals awaits selectmen at 7 p.m. tonight in the town office.
Two change orders totaling $23,500 were generated for the $405,310, Androscoggin riverbank stabilization project behind Davis Park after a review by the Army Corps of Engineers, Town Manager Scott Cole said.
Of the $405,310 original expenditure estimate, $303,983 is to be provided by FEMA in a grant to repair last winter’s flood damage; the other $101,327 is a town match.
The FEMA approval, he said, contains a contingency for additional cost.
Selectmen are also being asked to authorize a change order to the Bethel Ambulance Barn expansion project after the State Fire Marshal’s office required several additions to the scope of work, Cole said.
But, there are to be no changes in the contract cost of $149,087.
Additionally, Bethel Area Trails, a Mahoosuc Land Trust committee, has requested an endorsement by selectmen of its efforts to plan, design and implement a recreational trail system for the greater Bethel area.
Bethel Area Trails is also asking for town authorization to apply for public and private grants.
Two routine public hearings are to be held on liquor license renewals for Backstage Enterprises LLC and Cross Roads Diner and Deli.
