OTISFIELD – The selectmen approved the $122,801.84 monthly assessment toward the annual total of the nearly $1.5 million that the town pays toward the nearly $30.4 million SAD 17 budget.

Call if there’s a problem

OTISFIELD – The selectmen told resident Gordon Chamberlain to let them know if there appears to be a septic system leak on a neighboring property. After a visit, code enforcement officer Rodney Smith noted no problem. Chamberlain said the problem occurs in August when more people use the house. The board told him to call the town office if the problem recurs.

Beach shack approved

OTISFIELD – Resident Gary Tougas asked the selectmen if a building could be constructed at the town beach on Pleasant Beach to protect beach staff in bad weather. Selectmen’s assistant Marianne Izzo-Morin informed the selectmen that someone has donated material and offered to install a shack for this purpose. The board approved the project.

Board seeks cable access

OTISFIELD – Selectman Tom Nurmi suggested the community approach Adelphia Cable about wiring Otisfield for cable. Selectman Lenny Adler suggested the board contact former Cable Committee member Jim Howard to see if he is interested in contacting Adelphia.
