NORWAY – Police are looking for a drive-by shooter who did several thousand dollars in damage to vehicle windows late Monday night.

Police Sgt. Rob Federico said the shooter passed through downtown Norway between 11:30 p.m. and midnight shooting BB-like pellets through vehicle windows.

He said vehicles hit were parked on the side of the road across the street from the Unitarian Universalist Church, at Norway Savings Bank, near Cumberland Farms, in front of Da’ Zone and one on lower Main Street. Two vehicles were also hit on Alpine Street.

Federico said another vehicle was hit at Viking Motors in Oxford and there was a report from Paris police about a car hit on Elm Hill Road.

He said the worst damage was done to a Chevrolet Blazer parked perpendicular to the street in front of Da’ Zone. The projectile blew out the back window. The other vehicles were parked parallel on the streets.

“We recovered one of the projectiles,” Federico said. “It was round like a BB, but a little bigger.”

Federico asked that anyone having information call Norway police at 743-5303.
