The Maudy Thursday service will include a visual Passover display.

OXFORD – Oxford Advent Christian Church announces its events for Easter Week. The public is welcome at all.

On Palm Sunday, regular worship services will be held at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. April 4 at the church on Route 26. At 6:30 p.m. the Sunday School classes will present a program and the adult choir will present a Cantata titled Because He Lives.

The Maundy Thursday Service and Communion at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, will feature Nici Smith of Jews for Jesus presenting Christ in the Passover. She will answer the question: What do the Jewish Passover and Jesus’ last supper have in common?

There will be insight into how the pieces of God’s plan of salvation fit together and a visual display of the Passover pageantry. Christ in the Passover will go from Egypt to Calvary and explain what it means today.

Jews for Jesus raises the issue to the messiahship of Jesus through street evangelism, literature distribution, visitations, the Internet and newspaper advertising.

On Friday, April 9, the Walk of the Cross will be held from Norway to Paris. The event is sponsored by the Oxford Hills Area Clergy Association.

On Resurrection Sunday, April 11, a Sonrise service will be held at 6 a.m. at the home of Senior Pastor George Waterman at 40 Allen Hill Road, followed by breakfast at the church. Sunday School will be held at 8:30 a.m.

The Easter worship service is at 10 a.m. with a message and presentation of the Cantata by the adult choir. There will be no evening service on Easter Sunday.
