OXFORD – The Oxford Planning Board members will meet Thursday to continue their review of a proposed 13-lot subdivision on Sam Rowe Hill Road.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall.

The subdivision is planned on 80 acres owned by John Robinson Jr. on a site once used for sludge-spreading.

The lot sizes would range from two acres to nine acres. “They are going to be nice lots because it’s in a field,” said Code Enforcement Officer Rodney Smith.

At a public hearing on the plans last November, concerns were raised about allowing individual wells on land where sludge was once spread. Mike Noble, representing Robinson, said there’s been no evidence of groundwater contamination in the annual monitoring of the land required by the state.

Smith said the plan was put on hold when it appeared the Robinsons had a buyer for the entire parcel. The sale did not take place.

Only modular or stick-built homes would be allowed on the land, which is on high ground and looks down into a valley, Smith said.

A second item on Thursday’s agenda is a request by Matthew McMorrill to build a camp on a lot on Mirror Pond.
