PARIS – It’s been five years since the boys of “Forever Plaid” wowed the Oxford Hills with their songs about the last days of rock n’ roll.

If you missed them then, and kicked yourself, you’re in luck: They’re coming back, along with 17 other performers, for the upcoming Oxford Hills Music and Performing Arts Association’s Retrospective Show.

The show, to run Aug. 25-29 at Paris Hill Academy on Paris Hill, will bring together 21 performers to reprise 25 numbers from 13 musicals over the past 20 years of OHMPAA’s history.

Wherever possible, the original performers are returning to reprise their roles. “Forever Plaid,” one of OHMPAA’s most successful musicals, will bring together Jeff Orwig of South Paris, Todd Hutchisen of Portland, Dawson Hill of Boston, and Sam Tisdale of Washington state.

“Just to get everybody back together again has been overwhelming,” said show producer Linda Sturdivant. “Even if we didn’t sell a single ticket, it’s just been amazing.”

She said it’s been almost eerie to watch how easily the performers fall back into the roles they once played.

“They slip it on just like comfortable old jeans,” she said. Musical numbers to be reprised include those from “Guys and Dolls,” “The Fantasticks,” “Little Mary Sunshine,” “Grease,” “Mikado,” “1940s Radio Hour,” “H.M.S. Pinafore,” “The Secret Garden,” “Side by Side by Sondheim” and “Cinderella.”

To add to the nostalgia, there will be a collection of memorabilia and photos from past shows downstairs at the academy, a way to “celebrate the comedies, dramas and musicals that OHMPAA has brought to you through the years,” Sturdivant said.

The idea for a retrospective show arose from the idea of finding a way to highlight all the local talent among the teachers, administrators and business people in the area, she said.

“We realized one way to do it was to take a look back at what we’ve done.” They decided to focus on musicals, because she said it is easier to get the rights to a single song than to a scene from a drama.

The curtains will open on the retrospective at 8 p.m. Aug. 25-28, and at 2 p.m. Aug. 29. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children under 12 and senior citizens, and are available at Books-n-Things at Oxford Plaza, 743-7197.

The production staff for the retrospective includes Studivant as producer/director; Connie Allen as producer/assistant; Orwig as master of ceremonies; Jeremy Hill as music director; Kevin Smith as music assistant; Sophie Governale on bass; Ethan Wright on drums; Kathy Davis as stage manager; Kristen Searles as historian; Norm Hutchins, Joe Governale and Richard McIntosh on slide presentation; Norm Hutchins on lights; Joe Governale on sound, and Claire Sessions and Steve Sessions on set.

Cast members, other than those already mentioned, are Shirli Allen, Ed Baldridge, Rusty Brackett, Elton Cole, Kelsey Franklin, Laura Gouin, Meredith Jones, Tom Littlefield, Kate Lotito, Jeremiah Mcdonald, Jane Riseman, June Sawicki, Kristen Searles, Jen St. Pierre, Alison Whitney, Josh Witham and Sharon Young.
