BETHEL – Members of the Budget Committee are to meet with selectmen Monday night to decide items for inclusion on a special town meeting warrant.
At 7 p.m. in the town office, the two boards are to review appropriations for the operation of Bethel Regional Airport and of the undesignated fund balance to reduce the Fiscal Year 2005 tax commitment.
After making recommendations for the special town meeting scheduled for Monday, Sept. 20, the joint session is to end.
Agenda items include:
• Authorizing the Sept. 20 special town meeting warrant.
• Reviewing the town’s options in enforcing of junkyard statutes.
• Authorizing execution of loan documents in borrowing for sewer improvements.
• Appointments to the new Rental Lodging Committee and defining the committee’s task.
• Appointments to the Planning Board.
• Updates on traffic signals added to the intersection of Route 2 and Parkway, and on the riverbank stabilization and sewer outfall replacement projects.
• Action on airport paving bids.
• Communication from Maine Custom Builders regarding eastward sewer extension on Route 2.
A closed-door session is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. to discuss the Oakes vs. Town of Bethel litigation with the town attorney via telephone conferencing.
