WEST PARIS – Old Home Days events from Friday, June 6, to Sunday, June 8, will include:
Friday events: 4:30 to 6 p.m., Dorothy Hinshaw book signing and library open house; 5, jail opens, children’s parade, baked bean supper; 7, DJ Sammy Farrington at the Kingsbury Street dance.
Saturday: 10 a.m., parade (rain date Sunday at 10); 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. historical society open house; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., auto show; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., petting zoo and pony rides; noon, horseshoeing demonstration, West Paris Majorettes, Finnish Kantel at Mission Congregational Church; 12:20 p.m., Jaci’s Zazzettes; 1, baby contest, Milton Inman slide show; 2 p.m., Joe Perham; 3, chicken barbecue, music by Jewell Clark; 4:30 keyboardist Ben Blake; 5, hot air balloon rides; 8:30, Rick Blake’s Band; 9 p.m., fireworks.
Sunday: 10 a.m. petting zoo and pony rides; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., beano; 11, go-cart demonstrations; noon, children’s hour of reading; 1 p.m., soapbox derby, pie baking contest and sale of pies; 2:30, old timers baseball game; 4, plant auction and raffle; 6, patriotic program and singalong.
The weekend also will feature amusement rides, a firefighters’ muster, fish tank firefighters, fishing derby, horse and wagon rides, and a woodcarving demonstration.
