OTISFIELD – The Democratic committees from towns in House District 100 – Oxford, Otisfield and Mechanic Falls – will hold a joint caucus at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 23, at the Otisfield Town Hall to select a nominee for the district.

A vacancy was created when David Ivey, the Democratic nominee after the June primary, withdrew from the race.

The caucus is being convened by Maureen Howard, chairwoman in Otisfield, and Joe Flanders, chairman in Oxford, assisted by Oxford County Democratic Chairwoman Cathy Newell in accordance with the rules of the Maine Democratic Party.

The nominee selected at the caucus will be reported to the department of the secretary of state before the July 26 deadline and will have his or her name on the November ballot.

The caucus is open to members of the municipal committees in Oxford, Otisfield and Mechanic Falls. Registered Democrats are considered to be members of their local committees. Questions, or indications of interest in running for the nomination, may be directed to Cathy Newell at 875-2116.
