MEXICO – Two local men were arrested Saturday morning on three charges related to drugs and alcohol, police said.

Logan White, 20, and Michael Gould, 19, were arrested at their Kimball Avenue residence late Saturday morning on charges of unlawful trafficking in the designer drug Ecstasy, growing marijuana at their residence and furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol, Mexico police Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said.

He said Officer Dean Benson received a report at 11:06 a.m. from neighbors reporting noise at the mobile home. When he arrived, he detected the odor of marijuana. An indoor growing operation was discovered in a closet which was outfitted with grow lights and other paraphernalia needed to grow plants. The nine plants were each about 1 foot tall.

White and Gould were taken to the Mexico Police Department and released on $1,500 unsecured bail each. They are scheduled to appear in Oxford County Superior Court in Paris on Aug. 13. Hodsdon said Saturday’s arrests were the first drug bust of the season.
