Incident Report Statistics

Between Dec. 14 at 12 a.m. and Dec. 22 at 12 a.m., patrol officers responded to 75 complaints.

Arrests/Summonses

On Dec. 14 at 2:56 p.m., Michael Smith, 31, of Peru was arrested by Ptl. Winson on two active warrants. Smith was unable to post $1,250 bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

On Dec. 15 at 11:42 a.m., Glen Lane, 23, of Rumford was arrested by Ptl. Arsenault and charged with domestic assault. Lane was unable to post bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

On Dec. 15 at 7:40 p.m., Carl Ryerson, 26, of Rumford was arrested by Ptl. Lippincott and charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license. Ryerson was released on $200 unsecured bail.

On Dec. 16 at 8:10 p.m., Richard “Red” Downs, 31, of Rumford was arrested by Cpl. Maifeld and charged with disorderly conduct. Downs was unable to make bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

On Dec. 19 at 12:44 a.m., April Sprague, 38, of Parsonsfield was arrested by Ptl. Miller and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor.

Assault

On Dec. 17 at 3:55 p.m., a Franklin Street juvenile reported being assaulted by another juvenile.

On Dec. 19 at 1 a.m., a Rumford resident reported being assaulted in front of a Rumford bar. Victim is completing statements and charges are pending.

On Dec. 19 at 8:37 p.m., a Pine Street resident reported being assaulted in a Cumberland Street apartment with a knife to the hand. Subjects had been drinking and victim refused to cooperate and press charges.

Burglary/Criminal Mischief

On Dec. 20 at 1:53 a.m., a window to a Hancock Street business was smashed out; damage was approximately $200. Entry was made into the business; cigarettes and lottery tickets stolen. Case is under investigation.

Criminal Mischief

On Dec. 14 at 2:09 p.m., a Cumberland Street resident reporting two eggs on his sister-in-law’s vehicle. No known damage as eggs will wash off.

On Dec. 15 at 2:45 p.m., a Knox Street residence reporting someone keyed her vehicle within the last four days. Approximately $200 in damages.

Criminal Trespass

On Dec. 20 at 12:18 a.m., a Maine Avenue resident reporting two unwanted subjects. Officer arrived and learned that one of the subjects was a missing person from Mexico. Victim agreed to let his two homeless friends stay as long as they quit arguing and went to bed.

Theft

On Dec. 14 at 10:17 a.m., an Isthmus Road resident reported a subject trespassing at his residence and stealing his cell phone. Victim doesn’t wish to press charges, just wants phone returned and trespass warning issued. Suspect located and item returned and warnings issued.

Angela Taylor, 28, of Rumford/Bethel is wanted on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of attempt to acquire drugs by deception.
