Incident Report Statistics
Between Sunday, Aug. 24 and Sunday, Aug. 31, patrol officers responded to 123 complaints, which includes only criminal motor vehicle stops.
Domestic Assault
On Aug. 26 at 8 p.m., Joel Richard, 20, of Dixfield, was arrested on charges of domestic assault on Crescent Ave.
On Aug. 30 at 10:45 p.m., Scot New, 37, of Rumford, was arrested on charges of domestic assault from an Aug. 26 incident on Porter Ave.
Burglary
On Aug. 24 at 4:30 p.m., Royal Avenue resident reporting someone had entered the vacant resident and was witnessed exiting with two buckets of copper. The copper was cut and removed from the vacant residence. The witness positively identified the father and son suspects. Christopher Leclair, 29, of Rumford was arrested Aug. 24 at 11:40 p.m. Donald Leclair, 62, of Rumford was summonsed on Aug. 25. Both on charges of burglary and theft.
Criminal Mischief
On Aug. 26 at 3:09 p.m., Maple Street residence reporting his residence struck by eggs.
On Aug. 27 at 2:20 p.m., victim reported a sandwich smeared on her vehicle. No damage.
On Aug. 28 at 8:17 a.m., Washington Street residence reporting his vehicle was egged. Neighbor admitted to the egging. Warning issued.
On Aug. 29 at 10 p.m., Washington Street residence reporting his vehicle was egged again. Neighbor admitted having juvenile daughter do the egging. No damage to the vehicle, a harassment warning issued and suggestion made to seek a Protection from Harassment Order from the courts.
Criminal Trespass
On Aug. 27 at 11:57 a.m., Congress Street business reporting problems with a male subject who was upset over the political talk. Subject warned.
On Aug. 30 at 11:30 p.m., Essex Avenue resident reporting her ex-boyfriend was at her residence unwanted and harassing her. Subject warned.
On Aug. 31 at 6:45 p.m. York Street resident called reporting a suspect trespassing and they would like him removed. Intoxicated suspect told to go home and not return.
On Aug. 31 at 8:32 p.m. Cumberland Street resident called reporting a suspect trespassing and they would like him removed. The same intoxicated suspect told to go home on York Street hours earlier was on Cumberland Street and left prior to our arrival with a female suspect. Suspects located on Waldo Street and were requested to stay away from that location as well. Suspect was suggested to go home or he would likely be arrested. No further problems.
Illegal Possession of Marijuana
On Aug. 31 at 11:50 p.m., Hartford Street resident reporting a domestic complaint between two females. No assault took place, but Tammy Mitchell, 23, of Rumford was charged with illegal possession of a useable amount of marijuana and a 16 year old female juvenile from Unity was charged with illegal possession of alcohol (consumption) by a minor.
Operating After Suspension arrests
On Aug. 26 at 10 p.m., Aaron Brasuell, 31, of Rumford was arrested for OAS after a motor vehicle stop for speeding.
On Aug. 29 at 11:15 p.m., Lisa Puiia, 20, of Rumford was arrested on a charge of OAS and summonsed for violation conditions of release during the Labor Day Weekend Roadblock.
On Aug. 30 at 12:25 a.m., Raymond Lane, 29, of Rumford was arrested on a charge of OAS during the Labor Day Weekend Roadblock.
Obstructing a Public Way
On Aug. 29 at 9:28 p.m., Timothy Gotto, 48, of Rumford was arrested on a charge of obstructing a public way. Police reported the subject was highly intoxicated, was removed from the football game twice and was told several times to stay out of the roadway.
Possession of Mutilated License
On Aug. 28 at 11 p.m., Brandon Windover, 34, of Rumford was arrested on a charge of unlawful use of license, (mutilated Maine ID card) out of a location full of subjects suspected of using drugs. He was also summonsed for possession of a usable amount of marijuana and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.
Probation Violation
On Aug. 27 at 11:47 p.m., Mark Ambrose 44, of Rumford was arrested on a charge of probation violation after an incident at his Waldo Street residence.
Sex Offenders
Each week the Rumford Police Department will spotlight individuals living in Rumford who are registered sex offenders.
Shawn E. Gardner, 35, of Washington Street, has a conviction for Gross Sexual Assault.
Kevin Bradley, 32, of Route 108, has a conviction for Gross Sexual Assault.
Theft
On Aug. 27 at 10:51 a.m., a Knox Street resident reporting theft of $6 in quarters from her vehicle while parked on Maine Avenue.
On Aug. 27 at 1:28 p.m., a Mexico resident reporting theft of his disability card from his vehicle while parked on Hancock Street.
On Aug. 30 at 1 p.m., Route 120 resident reporting a catalytic converter stolen from his truck. Estimated value $150.
On Aug. 31 at 6:10 p.m., Hancock Street business reported a gas drive off. Establishment reported the suspect from New Hampshire pre-paid for $20 and over pumped by $5.06. They looked out at the suspect, who smiled and drove off heading down Lincoln Avenue.
Violating Conditions of Release
On Aug. 29. at 8:45 p.m., John Perry IV, 19, of Rumford, was summonsed for violating his conditions of release by using alcohol.

David Charron, 21, of Rumford, has a warrant in Franklin and Oxford County for unpaid fines.
Joshua Bernard, 24, of Rumford has a 2008 warrant for failure to pay fines for disorderly conduct in 2007.
Scott Hart, 26, has two 2007 warrants for failure to pay fines for assault, driving to endanger and operating motor vehicle without a license.
Jason Kehrer, 30, of Mexico, has a 2008 warrant for failure to appear on operating after suspension and violation of bail in 2007.
Timothy Turner, 23, of Lewiston, has a 2008 warrant for failure to pay fines on an assault conviction from 2005.
Arthur Macisaac, 33, of Rumford, has a 2008 warrant for failure to pay fines on an unsworn falsification conviction in 2006.
