RUMFORD – While the race for the sole selectmen’s seat has four people campaigning, the remainder of the elective positions are either unopposed or lacking in candidates.
No one is running for one of two open seats on the SAD 43 board.
No one took out nomination papers for the seats occupied by Diane Paterson and Michael Papsadora. The positions could be filled by write-in vote or appointed by selectmen. In addition to the school board positions, voters will elect a tax collector, town clerk/treasurer, and two Board of Assessors members.
Running unopposed for an additional two-year term as town clerk/treasurer is incumbent Jane Giasson; Carlo Puiia is seeking another two-year term as tax collector; Ronald E. Russell, an appraiser, is seeking an additional three-year term on the Board of Assessors; and Peter Perry, a retired appraiser, is running for a one-year term on the Board of Assessors.
Elections take place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, at the American Legion Hall on Congress Street.
