Dear Sun Spots: On Channel 13 a couple weeks ago they had a horse farm (helps horses), I believe they are in Windham. Could you give me a phone number or address – please no Web because I don’t have a computer. Also the man that helps dogs. You had an article on him awhile back, but I lost it. Thank you very much. – No Name, Rumford.

Answer:
The story on Channel 13 aired July 8 at the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals in Windham. A spokesperson from WGME News 13 provided us with a copy of the script from the story which read “they say they receive three to four calls a week from horse owners asking if they can drop off their animals claiming they can no longer afford to take care of them. The Windham facility only takes care of abused horses taken by the state so the society has to say no, but one day they would love to change that.”

The MSSPA recently began an Aid for Abused Horses donation can program with decorated coffee cans placed at businesses in the Windham area who have agreed to maintain the donation can on behalf of abused or neglected horses. The MSSPA receives all of the donations and 100 percent of the donated funds go directly to care for the more than eighty horses being rehabilitated or maintained at the MSSPA. To contact them, write to P.O. Box 10, South Windham, ME 04082-0010 or call 207-892-3040.

The story on Sergei Bachkovsky, the “dog-whisperer” ran in the Monday, June 9, edition of the Sun Journal. He has a “kind of doggie rehab center” behind his home in Greene. For more information call 946-5348 or 841-8575 or e-mail packleadersb@aol.com.

Dear Sun Spots: On 5/16/08 I ordered a Dome Climber for my children to play on. These can be seen at www.domeclimber.com. On 5/19 $199.00 was deducted from my account which was payment in full. At this time I have still not received the item. Calls and emails to them are not answered. Their phone number is 505-269-4319 and email is rodneywa@yahoo.com. Could you offer any assistance in this matter or advise what I should do next. Thank you for any assistance. – Pam, Poland.

Answer:
We corresponded with Rodney Ward at Dome Climber who was very apologetic and said your product will be shipped as soon as it becomes available. He told us that the company is in a transition of changing over to mass production, and, subsequently, the company is under renovation. The current product is on backorder and is not available at this time. He apologized to all the customers who are anxiously waiting. He notes “our main priority is the satisfaction of our customers and the quality of our domes. We 100% stand behind our lifetime warranty. Again we do apologize for the inconvenience, and if you would like to cancel your order the refund will be processed as soon as possible. We are a loyal corporation that is maintaining our stability. We will notify you with our updates, and your shipping information as soon as possible.”

If you would like to receive a refund, you may e-mail Rodney at rod@domeclimber.com. Please let him know if you paid by check. We suggest e-mailing him your information regardless so he can keep you informed of all updates.

Dear Sun Spots: I have a two tier organ, works great, with bench seat, last tentant left behind. Free to anyone interested, schools, churches or even nursing homes. Maybe someone who gives lessons would want this. Please call 786-7058 after 8 a.m. – before 6 p.m. Thank you. – Anne, No Town.
