RUMFORD – State Rep. John L. Patrick, D-Rumford, has announced his candidacy for re-election to a third term in the Maine House of Representatives District 92 in western Oxford and Franklin counties.
Patrick serves on the joint standing committees for labor and for legal and veterans’ affairs.
“I consider it a great honor, privilege and blessing to have been elected to the Maine House of Representatives and would like to continue my work on behalf of the great citizens of House District 92,” Patrick stated.
House District 92 consists of Andover, Byron, Roxbury, Rumford, Weld and Madrid, Sandy River and Rangeley plantations, and west-central Franklin township.
“One of my highest priorities as your representative was, and continues to be, helping citizens with issues dealing with state government,” he added.
Patrick, a 1972 graduate of Mexico High School, has been married to the former Claire M. Coulombe of Rumford for 27 years and has three adult children.
He has been employed for the past 24 years as a maintenance worker for MeadWestvaco Corp., and is a former board member of SAD 43 and St. Athanasius and St. John’s School.
He is a past president of Local 900 of the United Paperworkers International Union, and a former board member of the Maine AFL-CIO. He currently serves on the River Valley Technology Center Board.
He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 1248, and the Rumford Lodge of Elks, No. 862.
The chairman of the Rumford Democratic Committee, Patrick is also a member of the Oxford County and State Democratic committees.
