• June 10, 6:10 p.m. – A Canal Street caller reported seeing two moose in the canal. Officer James Bernard and Sgt. George Cayer shooed the moose out of the canal and back into the woods off Route 108.
• June 6, 12:55 p.m. – Caleb Theriault, 14, of Rumford, while riding a bicycle on Route 108, was reportedly looking down and failed to see a car driven by Peter Puiia, 45, of Rumford, moving out of a driveway. Theriault was transported to Rumford Hospital for treatment of bruises and abrasions on his legs.
• June 5, 8:25 p.m. – A 1999 Pontiac Bonneville, driven by Janice Lannon, 67, of Mexico, backed out of a parking space and into a mailbox on Route 120. The Pontiac sustained an estimated $1,500 in damage.
• June 5, 10:35 a.m. – A 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven out of a driveway on Maple Street by a 17-year-old Rumford boy, struck a utility pole, causing $2,000 in damage to the truck. Police cited operator inexperience as the incident’s cause, then summoned the youth for operating without a license.
• June 4, 5:20 p.m. – A collision occurred on Route 2 between a 1996 Chrysler driven by David Blanchard, 48, of Lancaster, Pa., and a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Gavin Cook, 39, of Burlington, Vt. The motorcycle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damage; the Chrysler, $400.
• June 4, 11:40 a.m. – A parking mishap on Congress Street with a 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by James Saunders, 72, of Mexico, caused about $1,100 in estimated damage to the rear of a vehicle owned by Elaine Desgrosselliers, 65, of Rumford.
Police said that after Saunders struck Desgrosselliers’ vehicle the first time, he got out to look at the damage, and his truck rolled forward, striking the vehicle again. The police report did not say what Desgrosselliers’ vehicle was.
• June 4, 2:35 p.m. – A 2004 Chrysler Concord, driven by Patricia Drapeau, 59, of Rumford Center, backed from a parked position into a vehicle driven by Raymond Lane, 25, of Rumford, that was stopped at a stop sign at York Street and Maine Avenue. The Chrysler sustained an estimated $1,100 in damage; the Lane vehicle, no damage.

• Cory J. Gurney, 28, of Peru, on a charge of operating under the influence, second offense, on June 11. He was released on $800 unsecured bail.
• Tanya Freeman, 21, of Peru, on a charge of criminal speed for driving more than 80 mph in a 50 mph zone, on June 10. She was released on $250 unsecured bail.
• Sarah J. Belanger, 21, of Rumford, on a charge of violation of conditions of release, on June 9. She was released.
• Chad I. White, 26, of Andover, on a charge of failure to update address as a registered sex offender, on June 8. He was released on $200 unsecured bail.
• David Carrier, 27, of Rumford, on a charge of operating under the influence, third offense and three warrants: one out of Franklin County for operating under the influence and operating after suspension; and two from Rumford police, both for operating after suspension, on June 8. He was taken to Oxford County jail in Paris after failing to post $3,300 cumulative bail on the charge and warrants.
• Wendy Varney, 29, of Rumford, on a charge of operating after suspension, on June 6. She was released on $200 unsecured bail.
• Nathan J. Dayon, 22, of Rumford, on a charge of operating under the influence, second offense, and refusal, on June 6. He was released on personal recognizance bail.
• William F. Scott, 28, of Anthony, N.M., on a charge of operating under the influence, on June 5. He was released on $500 unsecured bail.
• Jessie Cross, 22, of Mexico, on warrants for failure to appear on felony burglary and theft charges, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and another theft charge, on June 2. He was transported to Oxford County jail.
• Sarah J. Belanger, 21, of Rumford, on charges of operating under the influence and operating after suspension, on June 2. She was released on $400 unsecured bail.
