CANTON – The town has announced that the north end of Jewett Hill Road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 7, for emergency repairs.

WELD – The next Tumbledown Conservation Alliance meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, at the Cyber Cafe. Guest speaker will be Linda Bean Folkers.

Chamber dinner

BETHEL – The 35th annual Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner will be held Friday, May 14. Awards will go to 12 individuals.

The dinner will be in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Summit Hotel at Sunday River Ski Resort.

Reservations may be made by calling the Chamber office at 824-2282.

The cost for the buffet dinner is $30 per person, with tables of eight available.

Social hour and a silent auction begin at 6 p.m., with dinner and awards at 7 p.m.
