RUMFORD – The SAD 43 board will decide how to distribute or display several boxes of high school memorabilia when they meet Monday.
They will also enter into a closed session to discuss union negotiations for the educational technician and teacher bargaining units.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the library of Mountain Valley High School.
High school Principal Bruce Lindberg presented samples of trophies, tournament footballs and other items found in the school’s basement at the last board meeting. These items honor the former Mexico High School, Rumford High School and Stephens High School, with some going back more than a century.
He and Superintendent Jim Hodgkin have been talking with area historical societies and local businesses about possibly displaying some of the items.
Also on the agenda are the resignations at the end of the school year of 34-year teaching veteran John Skillin who currently teaches sixth-grade at Mountain Valley Middle School and Sarah Waite, a special education teacher at Meroby Elementary School. Appointments for assistant wrestling coach and baseball coach at the middle school will also be made.
