MEXICO – The Region 9 School of Applied Technology board will welcome an interim director at its meeting Tuesday.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room of the River Road school.

Harvey Hayden, a former school administrator with SAD 9, will work part-time as director. So far, nine packets of information on Region 9 have been sent to interested applicants.

The board will hold a farewell reception for outgoing director Deborah Guimont at 6 p.m., before the meeting. The board’s Finance Committee will meet at 7 p.m.

The agenda includes an update on the school’s accreditation process by staff members Pete Barlow and Jen Stevens. Guimont said the region hopes to gain its first accreditation next year.

The board is expected to decide whether to join with SAD 43 to buy diesel fuel, and to award a contract for the purchase of about 9,000 gallons of the fuel.

Other agenda items include an update on several revolving loan applications, consideration of a request to reduce the hours of the student services coordinator, action on salary agreements for adult education teachers, and a listing of early release days for students.
